Eduardo Mondlane University has 1 central library based on the University Main Campus in Maputo – Biblioteca Central Brazão Mazula – and a number of small libraries scattered around almost all the academic units.

Brazão Mazula Central Library (BCE) is a resource centre, responsible for providing information services to the UEM university community, especially to the faculties based on University Main Campus, and it functions as a hub that provides support to National Higher Education System in Mozambique.

Reading Room
The ECB’s Reading Room has 430 seats where users can have access to a variety of collections. There is also a room dedicated to informal reading such as daily and weekly newspapers as well as magazines. The Reading Room is home to Service Desk where users can request information on how the library operates, get support with research activities, and borrow or return books. Users can read, from the Reading Room: reference works, magazines, undergraduate course final works, dissertations and theses, institutional reports, teachers’ work, old books, videos, CD-ROMs, DVDs, and more.
The ECB Reading Room is equipped with twenty computers which provide users with access to electronic catalog, electronic journals, bibliographic search functions and used for users training as well. In addition, the ECB Reading Room offers WiFi throughout the building.

SIBUEM provides access to a range of databases of journals and e-books in a variety of scientific fields, through subscription and open access on the Internet.

The journals and e-books subscribed to by UEM are integrated and available in a single search interface on the LibHub Portal, accessible from the Documentation Services Directorate website, in the Digital Library.
The LibHub Portal (UEM Digital Library) is accessible through UEM Intranet or Remotely Accessible, subject to prior registration and is exclusively for members of the UEM community. Should you require data which requires remote authentication, please submit a request to the Digital Information Management Department, which is part of the Documentation Services Directorate at the Brazão Mazula Central Library Building. Alternatively, you can send an email to bce.digital@uem.mz. Please ensure you have a copy of your student card (for students) or a document proving your institutional ties (for teachers and CTA).
