Extension and Innovation at UEM

Eduardo Mondlane University is committed to improving the quality of life as well as raising civic awareness of Mozambicans through Extension and Innovation initiatives. As prescribed in the Extension and Innovation Policy, Extension and Innovation at Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) is implemented through five distinct ways:

(1) Theory and practice of Extension and innovation;

(2) Services Provision, Technical Assistance and Consultancy;

(3) Community Development and Technology Transfer;

(4) Social responsibility and raising civic awareness; and

(5) Raising civic, cultural and sporting awareness. Intellectual Property and Copyright

In each of these fields, extension and innovation activities can take the form of: program, project, course, event and product designed for dissemination purposes.

At UEM, we understand the importance of forging strong connections with our community. Through extension programme, the university strive to promote innovation by establishing a seamless link between theoretical concepts and practical applications. We are dedicated to community development, technology transfer, provision of services and technical assistance as well as social responsibility. Our goal is to raise civic awareness and contribute to the advancement of the society.

On average, UEM carries out 150 extension projects a year, under the above-mentioned modalities.
