Registrations and Enrolments

Registrations

Registration is the “act through which admission to Eduardo Mondlane University is confirmed…”. In other words, the admitted candidate is officially and formally Eduardo Mondlane University student. This act has, however, to be officiated by means of homologation performed by the Academic Registry personnel in accordance with the applicable procedures prescribed in the Notice of Registration, which is published immediately after the entrance exams results.

Thus, at the end of each academic year, students are required to renew their registration accounting for the following academic year, through payment of the relevant fees, in accordance with the Notice of Registration published by the Academic Registry Directorate.

Enrolment

Enrolment is an “act through which a student registers for courses they wish to attend, following the registration renewal. “This act is duly completed after the Registration Forms have been dully filled in including the paying of applicable fee.

Enrolment in courses is critical as it entitles students to attend the desired courses and, thus, participate in all academic related assignments which are expected to be completed throughout the semester. Therefore, students who are not properly enrolled cannot enjoy the right to attend any courses.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that this act is validated by the respective Academic Registry Office, taking into account the programme of study, as well as precedence system established in the programme of study. Eventually, when the process is completed, the lists of the registered and enrolled students in each class, course as well as programme are issued.

The academic calendar establishes the timing for application for entrance exam exemption – usually between September and October.

Pedagogical Directorate is the Eduardo Mondlane University body responsible for organizing and coordinating the admissions process, either through entrance exams or transfer.
