Teaching Staff and Researcher
Eduardo Mondlane University has 1,682 teachers and 127 researchers. The number of Lectures with doctorate degree is increasing on an annual basis, from 396 in 2017 to 442 in 2021, a period in which the number of Lectures with a master’s degree went from 588 to 714; and the number of Lectures with a bachelor degree dropped from 529 to 526. In terms of teaching staff qualifications, UEM has the highest percentage of Lectures with a doctorate degree across the country, 26%. 72% of the teaching staff are men and 28% are women.
Of the 127 researchers at Eduardo Mondlane University, 12% have doctorate degrees, 47% are undergraduate, 41% have master’s degrees. 55% of researchers are men and 45% women.
Only 2% of the teaching staff are foreign.
Technical and Administrative Staff
The Technical and Administrative Staff (CTA) supports teaching, research and extension activities, service provision, security and university management. Eduardo Mondlane University has 2,545 employees, of whom 42% are women. The University has gradually managed to raise the level of administrative staff through training and as a matter of fact, the number of employees with a bachelor’s degrees is on the rise in an annual basis.
Currently, Eduardo Mondlane University has 29% of its administrative staff with undergraduate degree and 37% with a medium level.
