The African Studies Centre (CEA) is a multidisciplinary research Centre in the area of Social Sciences and Humanities; it is an organic unit of Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) with a multidimensional research programme that includes teaching and debate of ideas in a regular basis including the dissemination of results.
The CEA’s research agenda is multidisciplinary and attentive to the dynamics not only of Mozambican society, but also of the regional and global context, encompassing the following research lines:
Environment, Territory, Health and Population
Governance and Citizenship
Language and Communication
Identities, Globalization, Memory and History
The CEA offers courses on research methodologies in regular basis to social sciences and humanities students, researchers, and other interested parties. CEA also carries out consultancy and extension activities in these fields.
